Australia batsman Simon Katich looks set to make his first appearance at Old Trafford when Lancashire Lightning meet Northants Steelbacks tonight.

The left-hander has been included in a 13-man squad for the Friends Provident t20 North Group encounter.

Katich, signed as a replacement for Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara, managed just seven on his Lancashire debut in the 23-run win over Durham last week.

Lancashire squad: Glen Chapple (captain), Mark Chilton, Steven Croft, Gareth Cross (wicketkeeper), Kyle Hogg, Paul Horton, Simon Katich, Simon Kerrigan, Sajid Mahmood, Stephen Moore, Stephen Parry, Daren Powell, Tom Smith.

Sussex Sharks are able to name New Zealand's Brendon McCullum in their squad for the first time as they take on Kent Spitfires at Canterbury.

Matt Prior adds further strength to the batting order after returning from England duty following the completion of the npower Test series against Bangladesh.

Loots Bosman, the South Africa batsman who smashed 94 off just 50 balls in Derbyshire Falcons' crushing win over Yorkshire Carnegie last week, makes his home debut against Warwickshire Bears at Derby.

The visitors are boosted by the presence of England batsmen Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott after their international commitments.
