Rain washes out Old Trafford game
Heavy rain prevented any play in this evening’s floodlit Friends Life t20 North Group match between Lancashire and Nottinghamshire at Old Trafford.
After a day in which the downpours had not ceased in Manchester, and with the weather forecast giving no cause for optimism, umpires Neil Mallender and Steve Garratt had little option but to abandon any hope of play at 5:45pm.
The washout is Nottinghamshire's second in the 2012 competition and leaves the Outlaws with six points, one ahead of Lancashire, with both sides having played four games.
Chris Read's men are next in t20 action when they play Yorkshire at Scarborough on Sunday, while Lancashire must wait until Monday, when they take on Durham at Old Trafford.
