Rain rules at Grace Road
Leicestershire’s final home game against Durham in the Friends Life t20 North Group at Grace Road has been rained off five hours before the scheduled start.
Heavy overnight rain that continued throughout the morning left the outfield waterlogged, with no chance of it drying out enough to allow even a reduced-overs game to be played.
The abandonment gave the sides one point each, leaving the Foxes still rooted to the bottom of the group with just two wins from nine games, after lifting the trophy last season.
Although the Dynamos cannot finish in the top two, they still have a chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals as one of the best two third-placed teams if they can beat Lancashire on Sunday when they have home advantage.
