Glamorgan pay Maynard respects
The Friends Life t20 game between the Welsh Dragons and Worcestershire, scheduled for tomorrow at the SWALEC Stadium, has been postponed as a mark of respect to Tom Maynard and his family.
Maynard, who joined Surrey from Glamorgan in January 2011, died yesterday aged 23. His dad Matthew also played for Glamorgan and was director of cricket during Tom’s time there.
The match will now be played on Tuesday 3 July with a 6pm start.
A Glamorgan statement read: “Glamorgan Cricket would like to thank both the England & Wales Cricket Board and Worcestershire County Cricket Club for their understanding and co-operation with this matter.”
