Washout at Hove
Sussex suffered yet more frustration when their second Friends Life t20 game of the season, against Hampshire, was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Having suffered a washout at Canterbury on Tuesday, Sussex were hoping to get their South Group campaign under way against Hampshire at the PROBIZ County Ground.
But persistent rain set in an hour before the scheduled 7:10pm start, and although a brief respite allowed groundstaff to peel off the covers in the hope of getting the game started at 7:45pm, the rain soon returned.
Umpires Richard Kettleborough and Tim Robinson called off the match at 8:25pm, leaving both sides with one point each.
Sussex had been anticipating a crowd of around 4,000 but most of the spectators had drifted away long before the match was abandoned.
