Kane Williamson will make his final appearance of the year for Gloucestershire when they travel to the SWALEC Stadium to take on the Welsh Dragons in the Friends Life t20.

The 21-year-old New Zealand batsman has contributed 674 runs across all forms of the game this summer, but is poised to join up with his international team-mates ahead of their tour of the Caribbean.

Both Gloucestershire and the Welsh Dragons have taken three points from their opening three fixtures and will be keen to close the gap on Midlands/Wales/West Group leaders Somerset, who boast eight points from five games.

The Dragons will be hoping Shaun Marsh can carry on where he left off last night after the Australian left-hander thumped 85 off 52 balls in a four-wicket reverse at the hands of Somerset.

In Saturday’s other fixture, injury-hit Northamptonshire will aim to record their first Friends Life t20 win of 2012 - at the fifth attempt - as they welcome Worcestershire to Wantage Road.

The Steelbacks slipped to a third successive defeat against Gloucestershire last night and will once again be without Ireland wicketkeeper Niall O’Brien, who is on international duty.

Captain Andrew Hall (back), Lee Daggett (hand), David Sales (hamstring) and Stephen Peters (finger) are also unavailable through injury. Alex Wakely will continue to lead the side in Hall’s absence.

Worcestershire, currently ahead of the Welsh Dragons and Gloucestershire on net run-rate, face the challenge of bouncing back from an eight-wicket derby loss to Warwickshire at New Road.
