Rain signals end for Hawks
Heavy overnight rain and more during the morning forced the inevitable abandonment of the Friends Provident Trophy match between Hampshire Hawks and Glamorgan Dragons at the Rose Bowl.
Umpires Rob Bailey and Nigel Cowley had no alternative but to call off the match 45 minutes before the scheduled noon start as they surveyed pools of water on the outfield and around the wicket.
Glamorgan Dragons already had no chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals having won only one of their fixtures.
But the rain was a major setback for the hosts, who needed to win to stand a chance of going through to the last eight.
