Rain condemns Bears and Ireland
Rain at Edgbaston confirmed that Warwickshire Bears and Ireland will fill the bottom two places in the Midlands section of the Friends Provident Trophy.
When the teams met at Stormont earlier in the month, Ireland registered only their fourth victory over a first-class county since making their debut in English competitions in the old Gillette Cup in 1980.
However there was never any chance of a re-match as rain set in at Edgbaston from 7am.
With conditions worsening rather than improving, umpires George Sharp and Peter Willey abandoned the game at midday.
All that remains to be settled in he group is the wooden spoon. Warwickshire are a point ahead but have only one more game against Leicestershire at Oakham School on Monday.
Ireland, meanwhile, go to Trent Bridge to meet Nottinghamshire and then return home to face Northamptonshire in Dublin on Wednesday.
