No play was possible today in Kent Spitfires’ Friends Provident Trophy quarter-final against Somerset Sabres at Canterbury.

Captains Rob Key and Justin Langer did not get as far as the toss or announcing their teams before the umpires called off play for the day.

The match will now be played tomorrow at Beckenham. Play is scheduled to begin at 12 noon.

Tickets that were purchased for today at the St Lawrence Ground will be valid for entry at Beckenham.

Kent commercial & operations director Jon Fordham said: “Sadly, there was no chance of any play at Canterbury following yesterday’s flash flooding.

"It was the feeling of all parties involved that prestige matches like this shouldn’t be decided on a bowl out so after consultation it has been decided that the match will take place at Beckenham.”
