Hamilton-Brown departs Surrey
Surrey all-rounder Rory Hamilton-Brown has been released from his contract upon his own request with effect from 30 September.
The 20-year-old is concerned that he would not get the opportunities at Surrey in the next two years that he believes are needed to progress as a cricketer. He therefore feels that it is in his best interests to leave the club to pursue other alternatives.
Commenting on Hamilton-Brown’s departure, Surrey cricket manager Alan Butcher said: “After a couple of disappointing seasons, Rory has asked to be released from his contract in the belief that this will help him find some form.
"It is important that Surrey players really want to play for the club and this is why we have agreed with his request. We wish him the best of luck for his future endeavours.”
After the completion of this season, Rory will travel to Perth where he will spend a season at the Scarborough Cricket Club, the same club for which Justin Langer played.
