Harris goes under the knife

Young Glamorgan seamer James Harris is still expected to be fully fit for the start of the 2012 county season despite having a groin operation
James Harris has undergone a groin operation in a Manchester hospital, but is still expected to be fully fit for the start of the county season.
The 21-year-old Glamorgan and England Lions seamer had a double hernia procedure in an attempt to cure the discomfort he has experienced since the end of last campaign.
As Glamorgan first XI coach Matthew Mott predicted last month, Harris should be available for Glamorgan's first competitive game of 2011: versus Leicestershire at Grace Road in the LV=County Championship from April 5.
Mott said: "He's got pain when he bowls. But we must not forget that James is still only 21, and he’s bowled a hell of a lot of overs for his age.
“He will now be resting for four to six weeks, and this period of rest might be the best thing for him over the course of the next few years.
"James is going to look to get as strong and as fit as he can and fingers crossed, he should be ready to go come our first game in April."
