Tyron Henderson took just 34 deliveries to blast a phenomenal 75 in Sharjah

Dawid Malan's 93 and a quickfire 75 from Tyron Henderson set up Middlesex's 110-run victory against United Arab Emirates in their first match of the Pro ARCH Trophy in Sharjah.

Having won the toss, Middlesex made up for the early loss of John Simpson to record 324 for eight at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium.

The UAE batsmen struggled for momentum against a disciplined Panthers attack - ending on 214 for six, with captain Saqib Ali top-scoring with 62.

Billy Godleman (41) had got the Middlesex innings off to a brisk start - before a half-century for Neil Dexter and Malan pressed on in the middle order, the latter finding the boundary 11 times.

It was then left to Henderson, who arrived from South Africa only on Tuesday, to provide the fireworks. He blasted five fours and six sixes in just 34 balls - an excellent display of power-hitting which took his side to the highest total of the tournament so far. It proved too much for the UAE.

Middlesex captain Shaun Udal, Danny Evans and Tim Murtagh shared five wickets.

Steven Finn did his chances no harm either, taking 1-40 off his 10 overs – figures which do not illustrate how well he bowled.

Middlesex face Yorkshire in Abu Dhabi tomorrow, and will be hoping for a more competitive game from the defending champions.
