Lancashire all-rounder Kyle Hogg has signed for Nottinghamshire on a one-month loan, his second such spell of the season.

The 24-year-old, who returned to Old Trafford after a month at Worcestershire in June, was recruited by Notts as they struggle top cope with a host of injuries.

With Charlie Shreck (shin), Paul Franks (ankle) AJ Harris (side) and Mark Footitt (back) not fit and Ryan Sidebottom on England duty, Notts director of cricket Mick Newell has wasted little time in bolstering his squad.

“I’m delighted to have Kyle on board and it’s a great opportunity for him to play some first-class cricket and prove a point,” said Newell.

“He’s a talented young seamer who has been struggling to claim a regular place in a strong Lancashire team.

“We have been keeping an eye on him for some time and, although he will only be with us for a month initially, who knows where it might lead.”

Hogg, who took six wickets at an average of 22 in two championship matches for Worcestershire, will make his Notts debut in the four-day game against Gloucestershire at Trent Bridge, which starts on Friday.
