Anthony McGrath's hundred set up a 150-run D/L win for Yorkshire over Lancashire

Anthony McGrath once again led from the front with a century to take Yorkshire to a 150-run win, on Duckworth/Lewis, over Lancashire in their final match of the Pro ARCH Trophy in Sharjah.

The captain made 106 and Joe Sayers added 132 as Yorkshire reached a mammoth 310 for five in their 50 overs to secure third place, with Lancashire settling for fourth.

Lancashire were 140 for nine when a thunderstorm appeared over the stadium and caused the match to be abandoned with 13 overs remaining.

It is ironic that rain has not affected any other matches in the tournament, but as soon as the white and red rose came up against each other, it lashed it down – possibly to make them feel at home.

It was McGrath's second hundred of the campaign after he made 101 against Middlesex earlier in the tournament, with the burden of captaincy clearly not having a negative effect on his batting.

Man-of-the-match Sayers showed he is not a one-dimensional player after being given few opportunities in limited-overs cricket so far, his innings containing nine fours and three sixes.

Tim Bresnan also added a quickfire 40 off 31 balls, before being caught behind off Parry, who was the most successful of Lancashire's bowlers with 3-44 off his eight overs.

But when it their chase, Lancashire were never in the hunt as only Luke Sutton (29) and Steven Mullaney (20) scored more than 18.

Steven Patterson took 2-20 off his eight overs, with David Wainwright claiming 2-24 off his five to leave Yorkshire well ahead when the rain came.
