Liddle leaves Leicestershire
Leicestershire have released left-arm seamer Chris Liddle, who is leaving Grace Road after declining the offer of a new contract.
The 22-year-old Middlesbrough-born bowler has said that he is looking to make a fresh start with a new county despite being given opportunities in the Leicestershire first team at the end of the season.
Liddle claimed 11 first-class wickets, including best figures of 3-42 in Leicestershire’s Liverpool Victoria County Championship win over Somerset, after forming part of a young seam attack in the closing weeks of the 2006 campaign.
Tim Boon, Leicestershire’s senior coach, said: "We developed a strong squad of promising young seam bowlers during the summer and Chris was part of that group, but he has decided to decline the club's offer of a new two year contract and look to further his career elsewhere."
