New Zealand all-rounder Andre Adams has been recalled into Nottinghamshire’s squad to face Somerset at Taunton in Division One of the LV County Championship.
Adams, who took a wicket in last week’s draw with Durham before he was replaced by Stuart Broad, will line up in what is an otherwise unchanged side for the Division One leaders.
Samit Patel, recently included in England’s one day and Twenty20 squad, and Darren Pattinson are included with Matt Wood and Bilal Shafayat set to open the batting.
“It could be Samit’s final Championship game of the season for us and it’s an important game for him to continue his run of form and catch the eye,” said Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“Somerset have a quality opening pair in Marcus Trescothick and Justin Langer and it is important that we achieve a big score in our first innings. Bilal Shafayat is feeling good after his hundred last week and we’d like to see a century from one of the batsmen in this game.”
Home side Somerset, who lie in third and within ten points of top spot, are unchanged from the team that drew with Kent at Canterbury last week.
