Allenby heads to Glamorgan
Glamorgan have secured the services of all-rounder James Allenby from Leicestershire.
The 26-year-old has moved to the Welsh county for the rest of this season on loan as well as penning a three-year deal to beginning next summer.
Allenby has spent three years at Leicestershire, helping the county to Twenty20 Cup success in 2006 and providing a steadying influence in the middle order.
Glamorgan director of cricket Matthew Maynard said: “Jim will be a great addition to the club. He is an extremely talented player and I am delighted that he is joining us here at Glamorgan.
“We have significant improvements to make on the field next season and Jim’s experience will undoubtedly help us for the remaining fixtures this season and in the years ahead."
Allenby added: “I am really pleased to be joining Glamorgan - they are a great club with some extremely talented players.
"The club recently hosted a very successful npower Ashes Test match and I hope that we can now deliver some great performances on the field for the remainder of the season.”
