Asif up for Leicestershire debut
Pakistan paceman Mohammad Asif is due to make his Liverpool Victoria County Championship debut for Leicestershire against Surrey at Grace Road.
Foxes coach Tim Boon will have the county’s two leading runscorers from last season available, in the form of Hylton Ackerman and Darren Robinson after injury problems.
Ackerman suffered a groin problem in the C&G Trophy match against Lancashire at Old Trafford while Robinson missed that game with a bruised ankle sustained while batting in a practice session.
England A star Stuart Broad is likely to form a new-ball partnership with Asif, who will be with the county for two months.
Seam bowler Tim Murtagh returns to the Surrey side.
Murtagh replaces Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Akram who has a groin injury and The Oval club will also be without seamer Martin Bicknell, who will test his own groin problem for his club side Guildford, at the weekend.
Surrey captain Mark Butcher needs only 51 more runs for 15,000 career runs and a century will also see him notch up his 30th career hundred.
