Back to reality for Bell
Warwickshire are boosted by the return of Ian Bell for their key LV= County Championship meeting with fellow strugglers Yorkshire at Scarborough.
The counties are within two points of each other in sixth and seventh position in Division One going into tomorrow’s match, which kicks off the Scarborough Festival.
Bell, who won the Ashes with England on Sunday, is one of two changes to Warwickshire’s 12-man squad for the match at North Marine Road.
He replaces young batsman Ateeq Javid, while Callum MacLeod comes into the squad in place of Boyd Rankin, who suffered a groin strain in the defeat to Durham.
Jonathan Trott is absent with England in Belfast, having received the one-day call-up following his successful maiden Test century at the Brit Oval.
Yorkshire, who drew the Roses match against Lancashire last time out, are also affected by England call-ups.
Tim Bresnan and Adil Rashid are both in England’s squad, so Rich Pyrah and Azeem Rafiq both come into Yorkshire’s 12-man squad.
The home side must decide whether to replace Rashid with Rafiq, another spinner, or to boost their pace options with either Pyrah or Deon Kruis.
