Sussex on the brink of promotion
Sussex need only eight points from their remaining two fixtures to return to the top-flight of the LV= County Championship, starting with tomorrow’s home clash against Northamptonshire.
The hosts will be looking to confirm promotion in front of their own supporters this week before their final game of the season begins at Worcestershire next Monday.
Matt Prior returns to the squad following his involvement in the npower Test Series between England and Pakistan, but skipper Michael Yardy and Luke Wright are unavailable as they themselves are on England duty.
Ed Joyce misses out through illness, so Michael Thornely and Luke Wells are added to the squad. Murray Goodwin will captain the side. Monty Panesar plays against his former county.

Kevin Pietersen makes his championship debut for Surrey in their match at the Brit Insurance Oval versus promotion-chasing Glamorgan.
Pietersen – currently on loan from Hampshire to help him return to form ahead of this winter’s Ashes series – and Chris Schofield both come in, having impressed during Saturday’s thrilling Clydesdale Bank 40 tie with Sussex.
Pietersen scored 116 and Schofield taking the key wicket of Murray Goodwin. With Steven Davies playing for England, Gary Wilson takes the gloves.
Surrey professional cricket manager Chris Adams said: “Beginning tomorrow, we are looking to finish what has been long campaign on a high.
“Glamorgan are a good side with a lot to play for but we will give as good as we get and look to send Surrey fans into the winter with an excellent performance in our final home game.”
