Rogers missing again for Derbyshire
Derbyshire will once again be without captain and overseas professional Chris Rogers when they host Surrey in the LV= County Championship Division Two.
Rogers has suffered further frustration in his attempts to secure a visa and his absence means fellow Australian Stuart Law will continue to feature, despite only being contracted to play one-day cricket for the county.
Head of cricket John Morris has named the same 13-man squad that drew with Essex last week, although Graham Wagg is rated extremely doubtful.
Wagg did not bowl a ball at Chelmsford after straining a hip flexor muscle in Derbyshire’s first innings while running between the wickets.
Wavell Hinds did not field and batted with a runner in the second innings due to a slight calf strain, but he is expected to be fit.
Experienced Kolpak player Charl Langeveldt remains an absentee due to his Indian Premier League commitments with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Surrey professional cricket manager Chris Adams has made two changes to the squad which laboured to an unconvincing draw against Gloucestershire last weekend.
Left-arm seamer Pedro Collins in included in place of off-spiner Murtaza Hussain, while batsman Scott Newman replaces young paceman Stuart Meaker.
Michael Brown will continue as captain for Surrey in the absence of the injured Mark Butcher (knee).
Star batsman Mark Ramprakash serves the final game of a two-match suspension.
Ramprakash was banned and fined £1,500 for using abusive language towards an umpire after an altercation with Murray Goodwin in last year’s championship match against Sussex in August.
