Leicestershire senior coach Tim Boon has recalled South Africa batsman Boeta Dippenaar for the LV County Championship Division Two trip to Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium.
The 31-year-old has struggled this season but will be given the chance to improve a 2008 championship average of less than 20.
Australian seamer Jim Allenby and South African all-rounder Dillon du Preez remain concerns having sat out the NatWest Pro40 defeat to Surrey on Saturday through illness and injury respectively.
Seam bowler Lee Daggett, who impressed on his Pro40 debut on Saturday, could come in for his championship debut should either Allenby or du Preez not be passed fit.
Glamorgan are set to rest former Australia paceman Jason Gillespie and England Under-19 seamer James Harris ahead of their Pro40 play-off against Worcestershire on Sunday.
Gillespie, who has a hamstring injury, and Harris (a slight back niggle plus an ongoing ankle injury) are included in a 13-man squad for the championship game but are unlikely to play.
Cricket manager Matthew Maynard is set to name the side that would have faced Worcestershire in last week’s washout with Dean Cosker set to feature.
