Durham are sweating on the fitness of wicketkeeper Phil Mustard for their crunch game against Lancashire in Division One of the LV County Championship.
The 25-year-old missed Durham’s NatWest Pro40 game against Hampshire on Monday after injuring a knee and is a doubt for the for the clash at the Riverside.
Luke Goddard will deputise should the left-hander not feature, but all-rounder Paul Collingwood misses out as he on England duty in the NatWest Series.
Durham lie 10 points behind leaders Nottinghamshire with a game in hand, while Lancashire are in desperate need of a win as they sit just two points away from the relegation places.
The visitors are missing England seamer Sajid Mahmood, while overseas player Lou Vincent, who was named as cover for captain Stuart Law after he suffered back spasms, will line up for the second XI following Law’s recovery.
Lancashire will also again be without England duo James Anderson and Andrew Flintoff.
