SWALEC Stadium, Cardiff, rain

Glamorgan and Middlesex were unable to take to the field today as persistent rain prevented any play at Cardiff's SWALEC Stadium

Middlesex’s pursuit of the LV= County Championship Division Two title was put on hold as no play was possible on the opening day of their clash with Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium.

Middlesex need a further 22 points from their final two matches to be crowned champions.

However, it proved a frustrating day of persistent showers for the visitors.

Umpires Neil Mallender and Paul Baldwin made an inspection after lunch but further rain forced them to call it off for the day at 2.50pm.
