Washout delays Cardiff clash

The first day of Glamorgan’s LV= County Championship match against Surrey at the SWALEC Stadium was washed out without a ball bowled.

Overnight rain and heavy, persistent showers during the day meant the umpires – Neil Bainton and Jeff Evans – called play off for the day just before 3pm.

The match was one of several to be affected by the weather on a gloomy day across the country.
