Elements end Cheltenham encounter
The final day's play in the LV=County Championship match between Gloucestershire and Essex at Cheltenham was abandoned without a ball bowled more than an hour before the scheduled 11am start.
So much rain had fallen overnight that umpires Tim Robinson and S.Ravi decided with one inspection that there could be no prospect of play.
The penultimate day had also been washed out and Gloucestershire were due to resume their first innings on 284 for four.
The home side took five points and Essex four.
Gloucestershire have announced an 8am ground inspection ahead of tomorrow’s scheduled Clydesdale Bank 40 game against the same opposition, and advised supporters to check the outcome before travelling.
