Maddy out for Warwickshire
Warwickshire are missing injured captain Darren Maddy for the trip to Gloucestershire in Division Two of the LV County Championship.
Maddy suffered a broken thumb in his side’s last championship outing, against Middlesex, and will be out for another month. Ian Westwood, who was captain in Monday’s Friends Provident Trophy win over Leicestershire, is set to be named skipper again while Navdeep Poonia replaces Maddy at the top of the order.
Veteran leg-spinner Ian Salisbury is also out with a calf problem and there is also no place for South Africa fast bowler Monde Zondeki.
Seam bowling duo Neil Carter and Chris Woakes come in, but England duo Ian Bell and Tim Ambrose are unavailable.
Jon Lewis returns to captain the 12-man Gloucestershire squad.
Ireland skipper William Porterfield has also been named in the line-up, with Will Rudge the unlucky man to miss out from the eleven which played against Worcestershire two weeks ago.
Both Chris Taylor and Steve Snell scored large hundreds in that game and they will be hoping to take that form into the popular Gloucester Cricket Festival which takes place at King’s School in the town.
The festival will be officially opened by the MP for Gloucester, Parmjit Dhanda MP who said: "The Gloucester Cricket Festival is one of our premier sporting events.
“It is a great day out and a wonderful cricket occasion. I hope many local people will come out and enjoy the festival this year."
