Ageas Bowl unfit for play
Heavy rain washed out the opening day of the LV= County Championship Division Two match between Hampshire and unbeaten Derbyshire at the Ageas Bowl.
As pools of water formed on the outfield, lunch was taken early but as rain continued to fall against the backdrop of a gloomy forecast, play was called off at 1.10pm.
Derbyshire, with two wins and two draws already under their belts, came south looking to extend their fine start to the championship season.

Heavy rain at the Ageas Bowl meant there was no play on the opening day of the LV=CC match between Hampshire and Derbyshire
Hampshire, without yet naming their line-up, were expecting captain Jimmy Adams to return after missing the last two four-day matches because of personal problems.
In addition, left-arm paceman James Tomlinson was due to be recalled for his first appearance of the season after recovering from injury.
Former England seamer Kabir Ali, also fit again after an ankle problem, was in the squad with left-arm spinner Danny Briggs, who missed the last two matches because pitches have been favouring seam bowlers.
