Sussex capitulate to Hoggard

Matthew Hoggard sent back Andrew Hodd, Dwayne Smith and Piyush Chawla in his game-breaking hat-trick
Matthew Hoggard helped Yorkshire to a thrilling victory to leave Sussex staring at relegation in the LV= County Championship after a dramatic final day at Hove.
The former England bowler first struck an important 26 off 24 balls to set Sussex a target of 240 and then took four wickets, including a hat-trick, as the home slide slumped to defeat in the Division One match.
Sussex collapsed to 83 all out - seven players failed to make it into double figures - as spinner David Wainwright also weighed in with 4-12.
The result was hugely frustrating for Sussex after a five-wicket haul in the morning session by leg-spinner Piyush Chawla had set up a chance of a home victory.
Yorkshire have now leapfrogged Lancashire in the table and are on the brink of safety. Sussex are 15 points adrift going into the last round of matches.
A century by South African all-rounder Zander de Bruyn saw Somerset to safety against bottom side Worcestershire.
De Bruyn struck 106 in 158 balls as Somerset - who were following on and started the day 88 behind - made 523 for eight at the close of play on the final day at Taunton.
A partnership of 167 between de Bruyn and his fellow South African Craig Kieswetter rescued the home side from the jaws of a humiliating defeat.
Kieswetter, the 21-year-old wicketkeeper, hit 15 fours and a six in a rapid-fire 90 before falling to Alexei Kervezee's catch off Gareth Andrew.

A sprightly 81 from Will Porterfield raised false hopes for Gloucestershire, who had to settle for a draw nine down
Ben Phillips hit 84 and Alfonso Thomas an unbeaten 54 to complete the great escape.
Gareth Andrew was the pick of the Worcestershire bowlers with 5-117 from 30 overs.
In Division Two, the match between Glamorgan and Gloucestershire at Cardiff ended in a draw, the a disappointing result for the two promotion-chasing sides.
Glamorgan declared on their overnight total of 169 for eight, leaving a target of 294 for the visitors who finished on 281 for nine - 13 runs short of victory and with the two tail-enders hanging on for dear life.
Gloucestershire had started the day well, with opener Will Porterfield providing a firm base with his 81, but just when they seemed to be heading for a win three wickets each for Robert Croft and Jamie Dalrymple swung the match back into the balance again.
A draw does neither side any favours going into the last round of Division Two matches. Glamorgan are 10 points adrift of second-placed Essex, with Gloucestershire a further point back.
