Dimitri Mascarenhas is in line to make his first LV= County Championship appearance of the season in Hampshire’s Division Two clash against Kent from tomorrow.

The 34-year-old has impressed during the three Clydesdale Bank 40 fixtures he has competed in since his return from the Indian Premier League, and has been rewarded with a place in Giles White's squad.

Former Nottinghamshire batsman Bilal Shafayat, signed by Hampshire last month on a short-term deal, replaces the rested James Vince at Tunbridge Wells.

Seamer David Balcombe is looking forward to facing his former team-mates after taking 33 championship wickets in five matches on loan at Canterbury last campaign.

Balcombe said: "It's going to be good playing against some of the guys I played with last year. I'm sure there'll be a few funny comments flying about when I walk out to bat or when I'm bowling against them, but I'm looking forward to it.

"They're going to know how I look to go about my stuff and I kind of have an idea of how they like to go about their stuff but it's quite an even playing field once you get out there and the game starts. It's just down to whether you can execute your skills and come out on top."

Kent could field Azhar Mahmood for the first time this term following the conclusion of the IPL.

Glamorgan will be missing James Harris for their first clash with Yorkshire in eight years.

The England Lions paceman returned from a troublesome groin injury in last week’s draw with Leicestershire, but has failed a fitness test this time round.

Seamer Will Owen and veteran spinner Robert Croft have been recalled.

Unbeaten Yorkshire have added spinner Adil Rashid to their squad for the trip to Colwyn Bay, but Jonny Bairstow is on England duty.

Essex travel to Wantage Road to face Northamptonshire with all-rounders Ravi Bopara and Ryan ten Doeschate at their disposal.

Bopara struck a century on his return from injury in Monday's CB40 victory over Gloucestershire, while ten Doeschate is back from IPL duty.

Spinner Tom Craddock replaces paceman Tymal Mills, but Alviro Petersen has returned to South Africa.

Northants will be monitoring the fitness of Chaminda Vaas, Jack Brooks and David Sales, who all missed the draw at Headingley Carnegie.

Division One leaders Nottinghamshire take on champions Lancashire, fresh from completing their first victory of the campaign against fellow strugglers Durham, at Trent Bridge.

Notts could welcome back fit-again seamer Darren Pattinson, while the Red Rose are set to be without the services of Tom Smith again.

Sussex have named an unchanged squad for the game against Surrey at Horsham.

Surrey are boosted by the inclusions of former India Test spinner Murali Kartik and Mark Ramprakash.

The match also presents Surrey captain Rory Hamilton-Brown the chance to play against his former employers, with England paceman Chris Tremlett still recovering from a back problem.
