TwelfthMan: My account

Chris Tremlett's maiden first-class fifty for Surrey did little more than delay Middlesex's march to a thoroughly convincing victory
Chris Tremlett’s unbeaten half-century proved in vein as Middlesex wrapped up an innings-and-44-run victory with almost two days to spare in their LV= County Championship clash with Surrey at Lord’s.
The seamer struck an enterprising 53 not out off 43 balls, but Tim Murtagh, Shaun Udal and Pedro Collins took the final four wickets as the hosts finished the game off in just over an hour on the third day.
Victory earned Middlesex maximum points from a championship fixture for the first time in 28 games and inflicted their first defeat by an innings over their historic rivals since 1995 - with only one victory in the intervening time, in 2004.
Surrey, in contrast, took a solitary point from the match after two of their three bowling bonus points were deducted for a slow over-rate.
At least the few Surrey fans who turned up had something to cheer in the performance of Tremlett, who made his seventh first-class fifty and first for Surrey.
The visitors resumed 146 behind at 110 for six. Tremlett arrived at the crease when Gareth Batty, who made 12, was magnificently caught by Josh Davey. Diving to his right, Davey held on to a full-blooded drive one-handed at short extra-cover.
This gave Murtagh his only wicket of the innings off the day's 13th ball but Tremlett was immediately dropped off the next by Owais Shah at third slip.
Escaping before he had scored, he dominated a stand of 67 in 62 balls before Stewart Walters, swinging at a wide one, was caught behind off Pedro Collins for 43.
Udal, greeted by Tremlett with a six off his fifth ball, removed Jade Dernbach after another 29 came in 21 balls, before Collins ended the innings in the next over by removing Tim Lanley.
