Rain has final say at Uxbridge
The LV= County Championship match between Middlesex and Nottinghamshire was abandoned as a draw after the final day's play was washed out without a ball being bowled in Uxbridge.
Heavy overnight rain left the outground awash and match officials Martin Bodenham and Jeremy Lloyds had no option but to call the game off with Division One leaders Nottinghamshire gaining six points to Middlesex's three.
The decision also left England's Test captain Andrew Strauss unbeaten on 127 in what is likely to be his last county innings ahead of next week's opening Investec Test match against South Africa.
Strauss batted throughout the penultimate day, hitting 13 fours and a six in a 205-ball innings that helped his side salvage a draw after they had been skittled for 98 on the opening day.
