Newman, Joyce and Hogg penalised

The ECB has today confirmed that three cricketers have received penalties under the ECB’s discipline code.
Following an incident in the LV= County Championship match between Sussex and Nottinghamshire between August 5-8 2009, Nottinghamshire’s Scott Newman was reported by umpires Richard Illingworth and Peter Hartley for a Level One breach of the code (abuse of cricket ground, equipment or fixtures/fittings).
Following another incident in the same game, Ed Joyce of Sussex was reported by the umpires for a Level One breach of the code (showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action).
Following an incident in Lancashire’s NatWest Pro40 game against Leicestershire on 23rd August 2009, Kyle Hogg was reported by umpires Peter Willey and Mark Benson for a Level One breach of the code (abuse of cricket ground, equipment or fixtures/fittings).
All three players have received reprimands. These penalties remains on their records for a period of two years.
Any further Level One breach during that period will result in an automatic imposition of three penalty points.
