Benny Howell helped himself to a first ever first-class century as Gloucetershire moved into a position of genuine strength at the end of the third day of their LV=County Championship Division Two game against Leicestershire at Cheltenham.
Ben Foakes finished 57 not out as Surrey completed a convincing six-wicket LV= County Championship win against Kent to close to within eight points of Division Two leaders Lancashire.
James Fuller produced his best return of the season to help Gloucestershire establish a narrow first-innings lead on the second day of the LV= County Championship match against Leicestershire at the Bristol County Ground.
Re-cap of Wednesday's LV= County Championship matches as Warwickshire edged to victory against Durham, Essex secured a handsome win over Glamorgan, Kent were skittled for 99 to leave Surrey a target of just 125 and Leicestershire bowled Gloucestershire out for 218.
An unbeaten 24 by Jeetan Patel, plus support from Tom Milnes, carried Warwickshire to a two-wicket win against Durham in the LV= County Championship Division One match at Chester-le-Street.
