Heavy overnight rain forced the abandonment of the first day of the LV County Championship Division One match between Hampshire and Kent at the Rose Bowl.
Umpires Jeremy Lloyds and John Holder made two inspections, the last at 1.30pm, but had no option but to call it off.
The rain had left pools of water on the outfield and although the morning was dry there was no way play could start.
