Rain thwarts Leicestershire
The first day of Leicestershire's LV= County Championship game against Kent at Grace Road was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Steady overnight and morning rain left the outfield saturated and umpires Nigel Cowley and Richard Kettleborough called play off after making an inspection following the lunch interval.
It was a disappointment for bottom-of-the-table Leicestershire, who had gained some momentum after winning their last two Twenty20 Cup games.
But they will hope to have HD Ackerman back in the side after injury when the game starts tomorrow.
