Adams starts for Notts
New Zealand all-rounder Andre Adams will make his Nottinghamshire debut against Northamptonshire in Division Two of the LV County Championship at Trent Bridge.
Adams has replaced David Hussey, who has returned to Australia, and will play his first match alongside seamer Mark Davies, who is on loan from Durham.
Mark Ealham (hamstring) and Charlie Shreck (shin) are currently playing in a friendly match and will be assessed before the match with Northamptonshire to gauge their fitness for a four-day game.
Paul Franks (ankle), Simon Francis (calf) and Mark Footitt (back) are all long-term casualties.
Northamptonshire will give a debut to former South Africa spinner Nicky Boje.
Boje was signed as a replacement overseas player for fellow countryman Johan van der Wath and now batsman Chris Rogers has returned to Australia, his presence is much needed.
Northants have chosen their starting line-up and Mark Nelson and Graeme White make way for Andrew Crook and David Lucas, with Steven Crook 12th-man.
