Owais Shah will return to county action for Middlesex when they face Northamptonshire in Division Two of the LV County Championship at Uxbridge.
The batsman, who has been on England duty for the NatWest Series, will line up alongside countryman Andrew Strauss to bolster the home side’s batting line up.
Fellow batsman Dawid Malan has also been included in the squad on the back of a strong Twenty20 campaign in which he mustered 192 runs at an average of 62 in the group stages.
The 20-year-old has yet to feature in the four-day game this season but could come in at the expense of Billy Godleman.
Northamptonshire will be without the services of all-rounder Andrew Hall after the South African failed to recover from an abductor strain.
Monty Panesar is however available and coach David Capel will inspect the Uxbridge pitch before chopping his squad of 13 down to 11.
