Director of cricket Graham Ford is waiting on the fitness of batsman Darren Stevens as Kent aim to extend their five-match winning run in all competitions.

Stevens has been struggling with a groin strain for the past few weeks and Matt Walker is on stand-by to replace him.

Ryan McLaren replaces fellow all-rounder Azhar Mahmood, who experienced discomfort in his lower back in the victory over Yorkshire.

Seamer Amjad Khan again misses out, having not yet recovered from a hamstring strain.

Somerset could recall seamer Andrew Caddick after he was rested for the draw against Durham.

Caddick is being nursed back steadily from a neck injury and played in the tour match against South Africa.

Peter Trego is set to continue, having overcome a side strain to play at the Riverside.
