Matt Boyce scored his first century for Leicestershire in Division Two of the LV County Championship in a draw with Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
The 22-year-old left-hander reached his hundred from 238 balls and batted for a minute over five hours in making 106 in only his eighth first-class innings.
Replying to the home side's 433 for eight, Leicestershire were eventually dismissed for 357 as 38-year-old spin veteran Ian Salisbury claimed 5-67 on his home debut for his third county.
Boyce extended his overnight stand with HD Ackerman to 182, a county second-wicket record in meetings with Warwickshire.
Ackerman, unbeaten on 82 when they resumed at 125 for one, completed his 11th championship century for Leicestershire with 16 fours before he was bowled when playing back to Salisbury's 12th delivery.
Salisbury gave the batsmen something different to think about. Boyce survived a half-chance to short leg on 82 and two partners fell to the former Sussex and Surrey leg-spinner.
Boeta Dippenaar, never looking comfortable in his first innings for the county, was caught at mid-off and Jim Allenby skied a comfortable chance at short mid-wicket.
Boyce finally departed when bowled off his pads by James Anyon in the first over with the new ball. He hit 12 fours and also swept two sixes off Ant Botha.
Paul Nixon continued to hold up Warwickshire with an unbeaten 63, his first half-century of the season, but the lower order folded quickly.
Jacques du Toit and Claude Henderson were caught behind and Salisbury came back to win lbw decisions against Dillon du Preez and Nadeem Malik in successive balls.
Nixon then took Leicestershire past 350 with two reverse sweeps off Salisbury before Monde Zondeki bowled last man Garnett Kruger.
