Westley returns for Essex
Essex have added Tom Westley to their squad for their LV County Championship Division Two match against Worcestershire.
Westley, who has been leading England Under-19s, is the only change to the XI on duty in last week’s championship game at Warwickshire.
Alastair Cook and Rav Bopara are away with England for the NatWest Series against South Africa, while fast bowler Maurice Chambers is unavailable due to an ankle injury.
Essex travel to Colchester fresh from success in Saturday’s Friends Provident Trophy Final against Kent. They are now aiming to put the finishing touches on a memorable 2008 campaign by pushing for double promotion in the Championship and NatWest Pro40.
Simon Jones has pulled out of the Worcestershire squad and is unlikely to play again this season as he faces surgery on a knee.
The squad, however, includes leading run-scorer Stephen Moore, who signed a new three-year deal with the club today.
Jones limped out of the last day of the drawn game against Derbyshire, and was forced to withdraw from the England Lions squad for one-day match against South Africa at Grace Road last week.
Kabir Ali returns after being on England Lions duty last week, with Moeen Ali also added to the team which drew with Derbyshire.
