Michael Vaughan is set to return for Yorkshire after missing the clash with Somerset due to soreness in his knee
Michael Vaughan returns to the Yorkshire squad for their LV= County Championship Division One clash with Worcestershire at New Road.
Vaughan missed the White Rose county’s four-wicket defeat to Somerset last week after complaining of soreness in his knee after the draw with Sussex but is now back to full fitness after the rest.
Vaughan’s replacement for the loss at Headingley was Jonathan Bairstow, who made his first-class debut, and the 19-year-old is set to keep his place after impressing with 82 not out in Yorkshire’s second innings.
Bairstow, the son of former Yorkshire captain David Bairstow, also kept wicket as Gerard Brophy is struggled with a finger injury, so the youngster is expected to don the gloves again at New Road.
All-rounder Rana Naved-ul-Hasan is rested ahead of a busy Twenty20 Cup schedule, while David Wainwright misses out after splitting the webbing on his hand during the Somerset game.
Young spinner Azeem Rafiq comes in to replace Wainwright and Steve Patterson and Ben Sanderson are also added to the squad.
Worcestershire have been defeated in four of their five championship games this season, but could name the same side that lost to Sussex by 10 wickets last week.
Gareth Andrew has been added to the squad and will come into contention, while Alexei Kervezee has returned from Holland's ICC World Twenty20 squad, but will not feature at New Road.
The Pears are sticking with Stephen Moore at the top of the order despite some poor recent form, while Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali will be hoping to build on their impressive performances in Worcestershire's second innings against Sussex.
