Weather halts White Rose charge
Yorkshire’s promotion bid continued to be undermined by rain as the second day of their LV= County Championship match against Gloucestershire at Scarborough was washed out.
The White Rose suffered their 12th day without a ball being bowled this season to hold up their quest for an immediate return to the top flight.
Yorkshire sit third in Division Two, 10 points behind second-placed Hampshire, but their hopes of closing the gap on the north-east coast were reduced when umpires David Millns and Steve O'Shaughnessy had no option but to call it a day at 3:30pm.
Fortunately for Yorkshire they made good progress on the opening day and they will feel they can still go on to beat Gloucestershire if there are no further lengthy delays.
They bowled out their opponents for 215 before reaching 61 for two, still 154 runs adrift.
