Derbyshire and Yorkshire endured another washout when no play was possible for the second day running in their LV= County Championship match at Chesterfield.

Rain throughout the night and morning left pools of surface water on the Queen's Park outfield and the umpires had no alternative but to rule out any chance of play after an early inspection.

It means the much anticipated top-of-the table clash in Division Two is destined for stalemate with only one day remaining and, after so much bad weather, the prospects for play on Saturday are not good.

With Derbyshire still to complete their first innings - they are currently 135 for seven, 84 runs behind Yorkshire - the only prospect appears to be for both teams playing for bonus points if the rain finally clears away and the ground dries out.
