Reece puts Leicestershire to the sword
Leicestershire suffered a bloody nose in the latest round of MCC University matches.
The Grace Road outfit came off second-best in a low-scoring clash with Leeds/Bradford MCCU, who ultimately triumphed by 102 runs on the back of Luis Reece’s unbeaten century.
Only 16 runs separated the teams on first innings after James Lee’s five-wicket haul limited Leicestershire to 181 all out in reply to the students’ 165.
Reece then turned the match in Leeds/Bradford’s favour, striking 114 not out in a second-innings total of 253 before picking up four wickets as the county side subsided to 135 all out.
Middlesex were convincing victors over Cambridge MCCU at Fenner’s, triumphing by 234 runs.
Dawid Malan and Adam Rossington struck unbeaten centuries as Middlesex eased to 438 for four declared after winning the toss.
Cambridge were then shot out for 157 and 179, either side of Middlesex adding 132 for three declared in their second dig.
