Leeds/Bradford, Loughborough and Oxford MCCUs earned creditable draws with first-class counties, due in part to weather reducing their three-day games.

Leeds/Bradford had given Yorkshire a scare by taking a first-innings lead of 76 and, having extended an overnight 127 for six to 189 all out today, set the Headingley Carnegie hosts an unlikely 266 to win.

Luis Reece moved from 58 to 60, Tom Hardman from 28 to 44 and Matt Higgingbottom was unbeaten on 30 for the students.

Headingley Carnegie rain

Only 50.4 overs were possible today at Headingley Carnegie where Leeds/Bradford MCCU drew with hosts Yorkshire

Ivan Thomas trapped Joe Root in front with the first ball of the chase, but Joe Sayers and Anthony McGrath struck 41 not out and 43 as the White Rose closed on 91 for two.

Oxford pushed Worcestershire hard today at the Parks.

Freddie Coleman and Ben Williams increased an overnight stand of 47 to 183 in making 110 and 92 respectively.

Despite four wickets for Jack Shantry, who had Coleman caught and bowled, the hosts posted 435 all out - a first-innings deficit of just 29.

Charles Morris then struck twice as Worcestershire limped from 13 for four to 34 for no further loss at stumps.

Leicestershire progressed from two for none in their second innings to 141 for six declared, setting hosts Loughborough a notional 304 to win.

Opener Nitesh Patel registered 38 and Sam Billings 36 not out in a respectable 122 for three by the close.
