Nixon lands Leicestershire role

During his last season with Leicestershire, Paul Nixon won England and Wales' domestic Twenty20 title for a record third time
Paul Nixon has agreed to become Leicestershire’s club ambassador.
The popular former wicketkeeper-batsman, who retired at the end of last season, will join their commercial team to help increase commercial revenue and provide support at selected events.
Nixon’s last match for Leicestershire was during September in the Champions League T20 qualifier, which the Foxes reached by virtue of winning the Friends Life t20. It was a record third time that Nixon won England and Wales' domestic Twenty20 competition.
The 41-year-old, who made his Leicestershire debut in 1989 and earned 20 England caps - all in limited-overs cricket, said: "I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to join the commercial team as club ambassador. I will do my utmost to take Leicestershire forward."
Chief executive Mike Siddall said: "Paul will work in a part-time capacity to fit in with his other commitments and I am delighted to welcome him into this very important and innovative role for the club."
"I am really pleased that Paul is continuing his long association with the club."
