Nottinghamshire are aiming to have a second permanent replay screen in place at Trent Bridge ahead of next year's Ashes

Nottinghamshire have announced plans to install a second permanent replay screen at Trent Bridge ahead of next year’s Ashes.

The club have submitted a planning application to Rushcliffe Borough Council and aim to commence building work in September.

Trent Bridge will host Ashes Tests in 2013 and 2015, but Notts are keen to ensure they remain among the leading cricket venues in the country for many years to come.

Chief executive Derek Brewer said: “It's no secret that we want to develop the William Clarke Stand, but we currently have to erect a temporary scoreboard and replay screen behind it for international matches.

“Installing a second replay screen will allow the club to advance plans for the redevelopment of the William Clarke Stand and will ensure that every supporter has sight of an electronic scoreboard and video content.”

The proposed second screen will replace the existing manual scoreboard in the corner of the ground between the Radcliffe Road and Fox Road Stands and would be mounted above a two-storey structure featuring a new base for ground staff on the ground floor and a hospitality suite on the first floor.
