Saggers joins Essex
Kent have agreed to loan 35-year-old seamer Martin Saggers to Essex for a one-month period.
Essex are currently suffering with a glut of injuries to their pace bowling attack and the addition of the experienced Saggers will be a welcome boost.
Kent director of cricket Graham Ford said: “We are delighted that Martin has the opportunity to play first team cricket with Essex.
“He has not been able to find a regular first team place with us this season and the loan system will enable us to allow Martin an immediate chance to play some competitive first-class cricket.”
Essex chief executive David East added: "We are delighted that Martin will be joining us on loan from Kent.
"We have a serious injury problem with our bowlers at the moment. Martin is a very experienced player who will help us significantly in the next few weeks.”
