Canterbury will play host to reigning champions Warwickshire on the first week of the Second XI Championship campaign

This summer’s Second XI fixtures have been announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

The three-day Second XI Championship gets under way on Monday 9 April, with reigning champions Warwickshire taking on Kent at Canterbury in the opening round of fixtures.

The Second XI Trophy, won by Nottinghamshire in 2011, commences the following week. Both competitions will then draw to a close in early September.

May 24 will see the start of the Second XI Twenty20 competition, with finals day taking place, at a venue yet to be confirmed, on June 15. Sussex were victorious in the shortest form last summer.
